Signage & Name Badges
Bells & Whistles was founded by Barbara Bell to produce signage and name badges for Plato's Closet and Once Upon a Child. Her mother, Catherine Bracken, and her 7 Dallas area stores were the first customer, but other owners in Dallas, then Texas, and finally nationwide began to use them. There’s now over 100 different varieties of name tag, and more still of signage. They’re designed to be more durable and useful than the paper/cardboard signage items available from MHC (or whoever it is now).
All signage and name badges are printed on glossy, hard, flexible plastic and are dry erase capable. These are not laminated paper, they do not have margins, the plastic itself is full color sublimated/printed. Use dry erase markers for wipe off hold signs, or use permanent marker for a longer lasting option. They can still be reused best by removing Sharpie with a petroleum based solvent like goo-gone or WD-40, but hand sanitizer will work too.
In order to make printers minimums and keep prices low orders are only placed from the manufacturer as needed. So out of stock items can take a while to get. The more orders from owners, the faster restocks can happen. More common types are more likely to remain in stock, this includes PC Types 1 and 2 and OUAC Types 2 and 5.
